Sheepscot Wellspring Land Alliance Midsummer Celebration a Success!
(consisting of free-range guided explorations and
an open-grazing potluck picnic with locally grown tunes!)

Exploration options:
(Please wear weather-appropriate clothing for exploring and bring insect repellant, sunscreen, and water)
“Woods Lore and Homemade Ponds” guided by Moe Martin, meet at Howard Rd. field ½ mile from Halldale Rd., 9:30 a.m. start. Point A on map.
“Discovering Dragonflies and Damselflies” guided by Alysa Remsburg, Unity College assistant professor of ecology, meet at Bog Brook Trailhead on Halldale Rd., 10:00 a.m. start. Point B on map.
Consider bringing binoculars, insect nets, and/or shoes that can get wet.
“Doing Archeology—Digging Ruins” guided by Chris Marshall, meet at the Northern Headwaters parking lot on Halldale Rd., 10:00 a.m. start. Point C on map.
Participants will dig in a ruin so bring gloves and be prepared to get dirty!
“Who Lives Here?” family-friendly walk guided by JoAnna Greenwood and Heidi Brugger, meet at the Halldale Spur Trailhead on Halldale Rd., 10:00 a.m. start. Point D on map.
Participants will become familiar with trail markings, examine life in the woods, and construct small homes for wood sprites. Bringing a small bucket could help when gathering construction materials.
Potluck picnic at Tom Boothby’s home, 406 Halldale Rd., Montville, ME (E on map),
featuring locally prepared and shared foods and
live music from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
